Proceed with caution here, but this video captures the truly awful consequences that arise when drivers do not look out for the other guy and operate their vehicles safely.
In the aftermath of major collisions, we help people begin to pick up the pieces and put their lives back together. I hope and pray that you are never in this situation, but if you are, be sure to get the help you need.
On the morning of Wednesday, March 30, 2005, in Santa Monica, California, one man’s life was changed forever. It didn’t have to be that way, and the man, Ruben Carril, Jr., is doing what he can to make sure that some other tragedies like it are prevented.
Tractor trailers and other large commercial vehicles can cause incredible damage. When you have an 18 wheeler versus a regular-sized passenger vehicle, it is no contest. This video is a perfect example. In the video, you can see a small car pull over on the shoulder of the road. A tractor trailer veers off the road and slams into the car from the rear. The results are devastating.
This video shows the wreckage of two tractor trailers after a collision. A witness said that the first truck was properly stopped at an intersection, when the second tractor trailer, going about 60 mph, slammed into the first one. The resulting fire was immense. This video shows the responding fire department beginning to get this huge blaze under control. The driver of the second truck was killed upon impact.
Here is a video of a FedEx tractor trailer slamming into two cars on an icy night last year. The video was shown in news broadcasts all over the country. I have featured this video before, but it bears watching again, because it is the most compelling tractor trailer accident video I’ve seen. Once you get an idea of what these trucks can do, you will never look at them the same way again. Mishaps involving big trucks must be prevented for the lives and safety of all of those out on the highways. The best way to make sure that happens is to enforce the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
There is some running commentary in Spanish from whoever took this video, but the commentary is beside the point. Watch this video to get an idea of the kind of mayhem that can result when a big rig wrecks on our highways. It is not uncommon for burn injuries to result from a truck accident. Let’s just hope the truck driver got out alive.
This video documents a fatal crash involving two tractor trailers and a highway patrol cruiser on Interstate 75 on December 9, 2005. The trooper found a tractor-trailer in the median after it slid off the road. While waiting for a tow truck, a second tractor trailer drives off the road, striking the first truck head-on, killing the driving instantly. Although the trailer of the second truck also struck the patrol car, the highway patrol trooper was not injured.
