Oconee County Truck Wreck Claims the Life of a Blacksburg, South Carolina Man
Terry Blanton, a 58 year old former Duke Energy employee, died tragically in a head-on collision in Oconee County on October 24.
Early reports indicate that Mr. Blanton was driving his pickup north on S.C. 130 when Joel Watson of Seneca crossed the center line and struck him head-on. The force of the collision knocked Mr. Blanton’s truck over the guardrail and down an embankment. Mr. Blanton reportedly died of his injuries at the scene. Karl Addis, the Oconee County Coroner, reports that Mr. Blanton was staying in the Clemson area while working for a contractor at the Oconee Nuclear Station.
